Delta de la Sauer Nature Reserve
The Delta de la Sauer Nature Reserve covers 486 hectares and was officially designated in 1997 by ministerial decree.
This protected area features a mosaic of natural habitats including willow groves, mudflats, reed beds, and sedge marshes, creating a wild and diverse environment.
The site is notable for its ecological richness, both ornithologically and botanically, and offers a landscape of great aesthetic value.
It also plays a crucial hydrological role, acting as a floodplain for the Rhine River during periods of rising water levels.
