Denise Rack-Salomon Media Library
Nestled in a remarkable setting, this media library embodies a public service dedicated to culture, discovery, meetings, training, and education. Access is completely free and open to all, without distinction. It offers a rich collection of 20,000 books, 2,500 CDs, 1,500 DVDs, 400 CD-ROMs, 800 sheet music, and 50 magazine subscriptions. Among its innovative services are free internet access, secure stations for children, USB key lending, free office tools, and online catalog consultation. Music lovers can enjoy freely accessible listening stations, while toddlers have a dedicated space with a changing table. The network includes four media libraries (Benfeld, Erstein, Rhinau, and Gerstheim) where a single subscription and card suffice to borrow from all. On-site, visitors can play, work, exchange, or relax by reading, listening to, or watching materials. Loans can be made at one site and returned at another, thanks to 24/7 return boxes. It is also possible to reserve documents or have them brought from another site. Users can conduct documentary research, use self-service computers, scan or print, and enjoy free Wi-Fi access. Opening hours vary by day: open Tuesday from 2 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday from 10 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm, Thursday from 10 am to 12 pm, Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm, and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.
