Dessenheim
Dessenheim, with its earliest records dating back to 762 under the name Tessinheim, is a village rich in history.
In 1939, its inhabitants were evacuated to Cocumont in the Landes region due to the tensions of the time.
Among its notable landmarks, the Saint-Léger Church, nicknamed the "Cathedral of the Hardt," stands out with its imposing 65-meter bell tower and its Rinkenbach organ.
The village also pays tribute to the French aviator Marin la Meslée, who was shot down by German Flak in February 1945, through a memorial. Additionally, there is a calvary and a Mount of Olives located in the cemetery.
