Domaine Schmitt et Carrer

Domaine Schmitt et Carrer is a family of Alsatian winemakers with a 15-hectare estate certified organic since 2004.

In 2020, the estate took a further step by converting to biodynamic farming, strengthening its commitment to viticulture that respects the terroir and environment.

Each plot is worked with organic fertilizers and carefully tended using natural plant-based preparations such as nettle, horsetail, and chamomile.

The wines produced reflect this special care, with natural vinifications and spontaneous fermentations that preserve the authenticity of each grape variety.

Some reds have been vinified without added sulfites since 2017, and their first white without sulfites was produced in 2021.

After fermentation, the wines receive a light sulfiting to ensure their preservation and transport.

The estate cultivates three of Alsace's 51 Grand Crus and carefully works with the region's seven emblematic grape varieties.

Their philosophy is based on a deep connection between man, land, and nature, respecting local biodiversity.

The estate offers visits in a setting that is both aesthetic and authentic, with a warm welcome (some public holidays by reservation).

Visitors can discover their expertise and the soul of their wines, born from sustainable agriculture and natural farming practices. To extend the experience, a shop is also open in the heart of the imperial town of Kaysersberg.
