Ebourbettes Farm

Located very close to the Swiss border, the Ebourbettes Farm played a historical role during World War II.

It served as a clandestine crossing point for resistance members and those refusing forced conscription into the Wehrmacht.

On April 26, 1942, it was the scene of a significant event: General Giraud's escape to Switzerland. While the farm's owner distracted the German soldier guarding the border with promises of local products, Giraud, accompanied by guides, fled through the Swiss beech forests before reaching Algiers shortly after.
