Ernest BURN Estate - Clos Saint-Imer
Perched on the territory of Gueberschwihr, one of the most beautiful villages south of Colmar, Clos Saint-Imer stretches its vineyards between 270 and 350 meters in altitude on a steep hillside (40 to 50%) facing southeast.
The plots, bordered by limestone stone walls inherited from the original clearing, retain the sun's heat and create an ideal microclimate. This uniqueness explains the remarkable quality of the wines produced here, recognized for their excellence since always.
The "Le Dauphin" cuvées come from old vines of the estate, while the Grand Cru named "Goldert," whose name evokes the shine of gold, already announces the richness of the wines from this exceptional terroir crowning Clos Saint-Imer.
At the heart of the estate, a pre-Romanesque style chapel, built between 1985 and 1988 on the initiative of Ernest Burn, gives its name to the emblematic cuvées.
This quality also relies on a demanding approach passed down by Ernest Burn to his family: respect for nature according to the principles of sustainable farming, manual work, controlled yields, selective harvesting at optimal maturity, and traditional winemaking. Each cuvée, vintage after vintage, composes its unique harmony, offering a range of wines of great beauty to satisfy all enthusiasts.
