Etienne Simonis Wines
In the heart of the Alsace vineyard, in Ammerschwihr, the Etienne Simonis Estate has upheld a family winemaking tradition for over 350 years. Katia and Etienne Simonis, managing the estate for 25 years, cultivate 7 hectares of vines using organic and biodynamic farming, with absolute respect for natural balance. Their approach highlights the uniqueness of Alsace terroirs while preserving the authenticity of the wines produced.
The winery, blending 1950s oak vats, stainless steel tanks, and Burgundy barrels, embodies natural winemaking. Indigenous yeasts on the grapes ensure the transformation of sugar into alcohol, guaranteeing wines rich in aroma and character. This unadulterated method fully expresses the potential of Alsace grape varieties.
Recognized with a star in the 2024 Green Guide of France's best wines, the estate stands out with a diverse range of cuvées, from traditional grape varieties to Late Harvest wines and the Grand Cru Kaefferkopf. Visitors can discover a collection of unique wines in a warm and authentic atmosphere. Visits and tastings are offered by appointment only, from January to March.
