Falkenstein Rock
Perched at 662 meters above sea level, the Falkenstein rises just 3 kilometers from Dambach-la-Ville, overlooking the Villé Valley with its fifty meters of granite.
From its summit, the view of the surroundings is breathtaking, rewarding visitors' efforts. This natural site is especially popular with climbers, both beginners and intermediates, thanks to its 20 varied climbing routes, rated from 4a to 6c, and heights ranging between 30 and 50 meters. To get there, head to Blienschwiller, 9 kilometers north of Sélestat, then take the D203 towards Villé. Just before the junction with the D253, a paved forest road leads to Schulwaldplatz where you can park. A 500-meter footpath then leads to Kaesmarkt, marked by a cross, from where a 40-minute trail leads to the Falkenstein.
