Ferme Linck
Ferme Linck, built in 1675, is one of the oldest buildings in Schiltigheim. Its history is marked by a major transformation around 1897, when it became a wheelwright's workshop under its last owners. The establishment specialized in making wheels for local brewery carts and tools for individuals, an activity that continued until about 1963.
Acquired by the City of Schiltigheim in 1989, the farm underwent a complete restoration. The work notably included replacing the ground floor masonry with timber framing, enlarging the rear gable openings, and fitting out an attic floor in the loft.
Today, this iconic site hosts year-round exhibitions dedicated to the town's historical heritage. Among them, the permanent exhibition "Memories of Schiltigheim 1860-1939" traces the city's industrial golden age, when it was the Alsatian capital of beer and agri-food.
