Firebird Fountain

The Gänsebrunnen goose fountain, originally installed at a different location, was moved to Franklin Square in 1882.

It marked local history until 1985, when it was replaced by a contemporary creation called "Firebird."

This new work, inspired by the reflections of sunlight on the walls surrounding the square, sparked strong reactions in the media at the time due to its bold aesthetic.
