Fish Pass - Steinsau Dam
The Steinsau dam features a fish pass with successive pools, consisting of 8 basins separated by 15 cm high steps. This structure allows fish to overcome a total height difference of 1.2 meters, facilitating their upstream migration.
The facility has been fully renovated and also includes six fish-friendly Archimedes screws designed to generate electricity while minimizing impact on migratory species such as salmon and eel during their downstream journey to the sea.
A video counting system complements this equipment. It consists of four light panels equipped with cameras connected to a central computer. These easily transportable panels can be moved as needed for studies conducted at other sites.
