Fishing at Lake Alfeld

Perched in the heart of the Masevaux-Niederbruck valley, this mountain lake stretches at the foot of the slopes of the Ballon d'Alsace.

Classified as first category, it is subject to the Fishing Law regulations, which strictly govern fishing activities there.

The allowed catches mainly include four salmonid species (brown trout, lake trout, Arctic char, and brook trout) as well as lake trout. Carp over 3 kg must be released. Fishing is allowed with a maximum of two rods.

A fishing permit is mandatory to fish here. Several options are available: daily, weekly (7 consecutive days), or annual permits. Fishing cards can be purchased online at www.cartedepeche.fr, at the Masevaux-Niederbruck Tourist Office, or at the local tobacco and press shop with PMU betting.

Access to the site is easy by car, with a large parking area nearby.
