Fishmongers' Quay

The Fishmongers' Quay was once the beating heart of local maritime life, where most professional fishermen and boatmen gathered within an influential guild. Daily catches were stored in live wells before being sold on site.

In 1706, a devastating fire destroyed over forty houses in the area, deeply marking its history.

Between 1978 and 1981, major restoration work uncovered the timber framing of the old houses, revealing the traditional architecture of the place.

This district, located at the junction between the Tanners' Quarter and the picturesque Little Venice, now stands as a living testament to the local heritage.
