Fleckenstein Fortress
Perched at an altitude of 338 meters in the heart of the Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park, the Fleckenstein fortress rises on a 100-meter-long rocky ridge. Built in the 12th century, this majestic site was a formidable fortress, renowned as impregnable for four centuries. Its history changed in 1689 when French troops destroyed it, marking the end of its legendary resistance.
