Flowered Grotto

For a moment of serenity in a green haven, explore this grotto set in a carefully maintained garden where flowers and trees create a soothing atmosphere.

Its history dates back to an Italian mason who, inspired by a vow made at Lourdes, built its first elements.

After World War II, Abbé Wendling took the initiative to make the site safe by defusing mines scattered nearby, then transformed it into a meeting and reflection space for the local Ried community.

Since 1979, the Friends of the Grotto association has managed and animated the site, continuing its original purpose.
