Flühr-Ohlenburg Estate
The Flühr-Ohlenburg estate is an independent, family-run, artisanal winery founded in 2023 by Romain Flühr-Ohlenburg.
Located in Pfaffenheim, a picturesque Alsatian village just fifteen minutes from Colmar, the estate covers 1.35 hectares spread across three communes: Pfaffenheim, Soultzmatt, and Westhalten. Its plots, with a maximum size of 20 ares, are worked exclusively by hand, allowing precise and respectful vineyard management.
These vines, cultivated using organic and biodynamic farming methods, support a rich and preserved biodiversity, with diverse flora and fauna.
Some plots in Soultzmatt, historic and unsuitable for mechanization, are notable for their terraces, dry stone walls, and a small hut. Treatments are limited to five per year, using only sulfur, decoctions, essential oils, infusions, or herbal teas. The winemaking, done plot by plot, is carried out without added fermenting yeast or sulfites, producing lively, light wines with unusual aromas.
Romain Flühr-Ohlenburg advocates virtuous viticulture without excessive mechanization to preserve the connection between man and nature. He is committed to maintaining soil and biotope life while remaining open to innovation and adapting to customer expectations, offering healthy, accessible wines made with passion.
