Former Franciscan Convent - Statue of Jean Geiler

For nearly 150 years, the Franciscans occupied a convent in Kaysersberg, which later took their name.

During the Revolution, they permanently left the town.

The building was then used by the army before being auctioned off in 1796.

Today, the church and the former cloister are part of the town's care residence. A mass is celebrated there every two weeks on Wednesdays, for both residents and the general public.

On the square of the same name, in front of the former convent, stands the statue of Jean Geiler, a famous preacher at Strasbourg Cathedral, known for his ability to rally crowds.
