Former Herrenwasser Baths

The Herrenwasser baths hold a historic place in Strasbourg as the first river baths established in the city, inaugurated in 1867. This site offered residents the opportunity to swim and practice swimming in a dedicated river setting.

However, due to the deterioration of water quality, these baths had to close permanently in 1971, ending an era of aquatic leisure in the heart of the city.
