Former Niedermunster Abbey

Founded around the year 700 by Saint Odile herself, the former Niedermunster Abbey stands at the foot of Mont Sainte-Odile, in a peaceful valley that hosted monastic and spiritual life for over eight centuries.

This site, where both women and men left their mark, once served as a refuge for pilgrims unable to climb the slopes of the nearby Mont Sainte-Odile.

Today, the site can be visited via a designated trail, featuring informative panels that guide visitors through the remains of this historically rich abbey.
