Former Saint-Esprit Hospital

Between Market Street and Saint-Esprit Alley once stood the buildings of the Saint-Esprit hospice. Founded in 1270 by the knight Jacques de Rathsamhausen, this establishment was dedicated to helping the most disadvantaged: sick people in need and abandoned children found shelter and care there.
