Forstfeld
Forstfeld is an Alsatian village located in the northern part of Bas-Rhin, on the edge of the Rhine and near the great Ried of Alsace. It is also situated at the border of the Haguenau forest.
The municipality, which belongs to the canton of Bischwiller, covers a total area of 490 hectares, including 80 hectares of forest. Forstfeld has been twinned with the commune of Condat-sur-Vienne, in Haute-Vienne, since 1973.
This twinning originated from the evacuation of Forstfeld's inhabitants in 1939-1940. The two communes organize meetings every two years.
