Fortuné Schmitter Pottery

Founded in 1844, this Alsatian family-run artisanal business preserves a unique expertise in making genuine salt-glazed stoneware pottery.

All pieces, both utilitarian and decorative, are entirely designed and produced in their workshop.

Recently, their production received the Geographical Indication "Alsace Pottery," recognizing their authenticity and local roots.

The uniqueness of these potteries lies in their firing process, typical of Betschdorf, which gives each piece its unique character and authenticity.

This traditional method showcases the artisans' full talent.

Thanks to salt vitrification, the pottery becomes waterproof and imperishable, combining durability and aesthetics.
