Frankenthal-Missheimle National Nature Reserve

Perched at 1,220 meters altitude on the Alsace side of the Honneck massif, the Frankenthal-Missheimle site spans 747 hectares and offers a complete change of scenery.

Its terrain, marked by glacial cirques, peat bogs, and primary grasslands, shelters remarkable biodiversity, both plant and animal.

The vast high-altitude beech forests, which retain snow well in winter, make it one of the snowiest areas in the Vosges massif.

Accessible to hikers, athletes, and nature lovers, this preserved territory is suitable for both summer walks and winter activities, in a wild and protected setting.
