Friedmann Pottery

This charming Alsatian house is home to Poterie Friedmann, one of the oldest potteries in Soufflenheim, dating back to 1802. True to the tradition passed down by its ancestors, the potter still works by hand, using local clay extracted from the Haguenau Forest. The shop displays pieces with traditional decorations while also showcasing more colorful and modern creations. The warm welcome from Willy and the iconic whistle of the workshop add an authentic touch to the visit. The shop is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday and public holidays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is recommended to call to confirm opening hours. Self-guided visits of the workshop are possible Monday to Friday at midday. Free guided tours, without demonstrations, are also offered on weekdays by reservation, in French and German, for groups of 10 to 40 people (or 100 in two groups). School groups are not accepted.
