GAEC des Rivières - Munck Farm

For nearly three decades, this family-run Alsatian farm invites you to discover their wood-fired country breads made using traditional methods. As dairy farmers and cereal producers, they integrated bread-making into their operation, creating a virtuous cycle between cultivation, milling, and baking.

In 2020, they took a new step by acquiring their own mill: now, wheat from their fields is milled on-site just before being used to make bread. After harvest, the grains are carefully cleaned, sorted, and stored in a dedicated silo. Before stone milling, a brush removes the last impurities. The freshly milled flour is used within days to make breads without any preservatives or gluten additives.

These breads are available weekly in Hirtzbach and on Saturday mornings at the Terroir du Sundgau producers' market in Altkirch. In addition to baking, the farm also offers eggs, potatoes, seasonal vegetables, honey, and boxes of veal or beef meat.
