Gallo-Roman Columns
These two sandstone columns, topped with Corinthian capitals, which now decorate the gate of a villa located at numbers 21-23 Avenue Foch, come from a Gallo-Roman architectural ensemble.
They were once part of the peristyle that framed the main catchment basin of the local Roman spring.
After being restored in 1592 under the initiative of Count Philippe V of Hanau, these columns were preserved until 1949, when the ancient basin was dismantled.
