Garden of Wild Desires
Olivier opens the doors to his peaceful haven, a 1000 m² garden where biodiversity has been restored over six years. Native and non-invasive trees and shrubs have been planted, providing shelter for birds such as house martins, tits, and white-fronted redstarts. Installed birdhouses also welcome house sparrows. Mammals and reptiles visit discreetly: shrews, foxes, martens, and roe deer frequent the area at night, while wall lizards and slow worms enjoy sunny spots. Five artificial ponds create wet corridors, attracting a diverse aquatic and terrestrial fauna, from larvae to pollinating insects. The plants, mostly native to France and Europe, bloom throughout the seasons, feeding a rich insectivorous fauna. The vegetable garden, inspired by permaculture, combines hay mulching with coexistence alongside spontaneous vegetation. This little paradise is open year-round by appointment only, for groups of 8 to 15 people.
