Geraudon Castle of Odratzheim
In 1765, Auguste Pierre de Géradon, royal war commissioner, had this castle built to serve as his residence.
Architect Joseph Massol oversaw its construction on the foundations of an earlier castle. The building still shows traces of its medieval past: the right carriage gate, decorated with a mill wheel, bears the date 1624, while the left gate dates back to 1560.
In 1940, an accidental fire destroyed the roof of the main building, which was rebuilt five years later. During this reconstruction, many areas were redesigned. The central section is distinguished by a triangular pediment, visible from both front and back. Since 1940, the facades, roofs, and interior staircase have been partially listed as historic monuments.
