Goethe Memorial

Between 1770 and 1771, the young Goethe, then a law student in Strasbourg, discovered Alsace and immersed himself in its culture.

It was during this time that he met Frédérique Brion, daughter of the pastor of Sessenheim, with whom he had a significant relationship.

The poet's stay in Alsace, rich in intellectual and artistic exchanges, deeply influenced his work.

Objects and reproductions of documents now bear witness to this pivotal period, highlighting Goethe's connections with French culture and his attachment to this border region.
