Graves of the First Victims of the 1870 War
This burial site contains the graves of Marshal Sergeant Claude Férréol Pagnier, a French cavalry hunter, and Lieutenant Winsloe, a Prussian soldier.
Both were severely wounded during the attack on Schirlenhof on July 25, 1870.
The Prussian Dragoon died a few hours after the Frenchman, in the context of the Franco-Prussian War. This place commemorates their sacrifice and recalls the fierce battles of that period.
