Haag Farm-Inn

Located on the GR5 trail, this Vosges farm-inn marks a stop before ascending the Grand Ballon, the highest peak of the massif at 1,424 meters.

Although its atmosphere recalls Alpine refuges, it remains rooted in the tradition of Vosges farms, where the Alps can only be glimpsed through clear weather.

The establishment can host up to forty guests around typical dishes such as Fleischschnackas, pot-au-feu, a Munster and leek tart, or a blueberry tart, accompanied by white cheese with kirsch and homemade flan.

In summer, hikers can explore the surroundings in about twenty minutes to the Ballon lake or in an hour and a half to the Markstein.

Fishing enthusiasts enjoy the lake located just 1.5 kilometers away, while mountain bike trails crisscross the region.

In winter, car access is impossible: visitors must reach the site on foot from Geishouse (2 hours) or Linthal (3 hours). Once there, activities focus on cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, in a preserved setting where the snow transforms the landscape into a pristine scene.
