Haguenau

Haguenau, the fourth largest city in Alsace, stands out for its rich 18th-century architectural heritage, accessible by foot or bike. Audio guides, available at the tourist office in French, German, or English, as well as guided tours offered in the summer season, allow visitors to discover these treasures. To deepen the visit, two museums await: the Alsatian Museum and the Historical Museum, each offering a unique insight into local history and traditions.

Just minutes from the city center, the Forêt d’Exception® of Haguenau invites you to a nature getaway. Several hiking trails, suitable for both walkers and cyclists, wind through this forest massif. A stop at the “Gros Chêne” inn, located in the heart of the forest, offers a shaded terrace especially appreciated by families. This accessible and preserved forest provides an ideal setting for a green break.

A dynamic city in northern Alsace, Haguenau is also an important industrial and commercial hub, located about thirty kilometers north of Strasbourg. Its pedestrian city center, elegant 18th-century buildings, museums, numerous green spaces, and forest make it a pleasant place to live. Throughout the year, the city also offers a varied cultural program, blending events and activities for all tastes.
