Hahnenbrunnen Refuge

This refuge offers dormitory and room accommodations: a 15-bed dormitory, two 5-bed rooms, and two 3-bed rooms, all equipped with blankets and pillows.

Sheets are available for purchase at €4. Shared facilities include two showers, two toilets, and four sinks. A kitchen equipped with induction cookers, a refrigerator, and a freezer is available, along with cutlery and plates. Meals can be enjoyed at the nearby Hahnenbrunnen farm inn. There is a large dining room with 45 seats and a meeting room with 20 seats. Drinks are available on site, as well as a bring-your-own-food room. Board games are provided. Pets are allowed in the dining room and bring-your-own-food room but are prohibited in the kitchen and dormitories. Car access is possible from May 1 to November 1 via the Crêtes road. In winter, the refuge is only accessible by cross-country skiing or snowshoeing from Markstein or the Platzerwasel pass, a 5 km unmarked and potentially dangerous route in bad weather. The refuge is open from Saturday 4 pm to Sunday 4 pm on weekends, and continuously in July and August. Rates are €10 per night for adults, €5 for children under 16, and free for children under 6. Holiday vouchers are not accepted.
