Half-Timbered Church of Kuhlendorf

This half-timbered church, unique in its kind in the region, is a true architectural treasure. Built in 1820 to serve both as an oratory and a school, it was originally known as the "Bet und Schulhaus." Classified as a historic monument, it reflects a collective effort involving many local craftsmen. Originally, the church entrance was through the door facing the street, while access to the school was on the side. Inside, the ground floor housed the classroom, and the first floor served as the teacher's residence. Even today, the church retains its original furnishings, including the altar, pulpit, and benches. Just a few steps away, you can also discover a 19th-century half-timbered guardhouse, the "Wachthiesel."
