Hans Rock Climbing Site at Lac Blanc

For a climbing experience combining athletic challenge and breathtaking views, Hans Rock stands out as a must-visit destination in the Vosges. Perched above Lac Blanc, this granite site offers around forty equipped routes, ranging from grades 5b to 7b. Route lengths vary from 6 to 110 meters, providing paths suited to seasoned climbers seeking thrilling sensations.

Access is from the Lac Blanc dam parking lot, via a marked trail (red and white circle) leading to the Vierge Tower. A steep path, taking about 20 minutes to climb, then leads to the base of the routes. This site is mainly reserved for experienced athletes due to the technical passages and commitment required. Beginners are strongly encouraged to be accompanied by a professional guide to fully enjoy the experience safely.

It is important to note that Hans Rock is located within a state biological reserve, which entails access restrictions, especially in winter. Indeed, the site is not accessible in snowy conditions. Furthermore, the indicated opening dates are purely indicative: it is essential to check weather conditions before visiting to ensure safe practice and environmental respect.
