Hattstatt
Hattstatt is part of the history of the Haut-Mundat of the Prince-Bishops of Strasbourg, where this village was for centuries the heart of an important lordship.
Surrounded by fortifications, it suffered destruction during the Thirty Years' War, as evidenced by a remaining gate, ramparts, and ditches.
Since the 1950s, Hattstatt has established itself as an emblematic wine-growing village, thanks to the restoration of its picturesque houses.
Its built heritage is structured around two major ensembles: on one hand, the Sainte-Colombe church and the Lords of Hattstatt's castle, and on the other, the village itself, which embodies the authenticity of a preserved Alsatian town.
