Hausbergen Slopes

The municipalities of Oberhausbergen, Mittelhausbergen, Niederhausbergen, and Mundolsheim stretch at the foot of the Hausbergen slopes, located on the southwest edge of the loess hills of Kochersberg.

These slopes form the highest point of the Eurometropolis, offering an exceptional panorama of the Strasbourg urban area and the Black Forest to the east, as well as the Kochersberg and the Vosges to the west.

The site, marked by its vegetable and ornamental gardens, sunken paths, and wooded areas inherited from former military fortifications, is a very popular walking spot.

The diversity of its flora and fauna makes it a rich and preserved natural space.

From Mittelhausbergen, it is possible to take the ancient Klamm path, a deeply sunken dirt trail between two clay walls. This path was once part of a heavily used network connecting Strasbourg to its granary, the Kochersberg, as well as to the old Vosges crossing.
