Haut-Mahrel Refuge - Friends of Nature

This refuge is located in the Vosges Mountains, in the heart of the Ballons Regional Park, at 640 meters altitude, at the foot of the Bussang pass. It welcomes hikers and nature lovers in a preserved setting. Pets are allowed on site, except in the rooms reserved for humans.

Access to the refuge is via a hiking trail, unpaved and sometimes narrow, requiring a gradual walk. Several routes are possible from nearby villages. From Wesserlin, look for three stone fountains on your right before turning right. From Bussang, pass the church then the bridge before turning left.

Along the ascent, signposts clearly indicate the path to follow. The refuge is open on weekends and by reservation, offering a welcoming stop after the effort.
