Heidenfluh Log Cabin in Ferrette

Perched on the heights of Ferrette, at the place called Heidenfluh, this shelter made of fir logs, known as the forest cabin, charms visitors with its natural setting.

Freely accessible to hikers outside rental periods, it can also be booked for an evening through the Sundgau Tourist Office. Without electricity, water, or heating, it offers an indoor space of 30 m² that can accommodate between 20 and 30 people, with two tables and benches seating 8 to 10 each, plus a table under the awning for 6 to 8 guests.

Outside, three additional tables, two barbecues, and three fixed benches complete the facilities, all set in a shaded and spacious environment. The view of the foothills of the Alsatian Jura and the sunsets over the Vosges is remarkable.

Car access is limited: only one vehicle is allowed for people with reduced mobility or for supplies by reservation, with parking located a 5-minute walk away. Reservations require the transmission of authorizations to the competent authorities for control.

This shelter was funded thanks to European agricultural funds for rural development.
