Heidenkopf Climbing Site

Perched above the forests of the Northern Vosges, the fantastic rocks form a remarkable natural site shaped by millennia of erosion.

Among them, the one that served as the base for the Old Windstein castle particularly attracts climbers. Heidenkopf stands out as a spot accessible to both beginners and experienced climbers. It offers about fifteen equipped routes ranging from levels 4 to 6a, ideal for safely learning or improving skills. For challenge seekers, a vertical wall provides five more technical routes, from 7c to ongoing projects. Notably, intermediate levels like 5c or 6b are absent here.

The routes are regularly maintained by the French Federation of Mountain and Climbing (FFME), ensuring optimal climbing conditions.
