Heritage and Footwear Museum
Dive into the history of footwear in Dettwiller, a town that once had about twenty factories, the oldest dating back to 1862. This museum, established by the Heritage Club, invites you to explore the evolution of shoe models through themed display cases. You will see shoes from various factories, from late 19th-century creations to moccasins by the Sioux-Heschung company, including the full range of Adidas® sports shoes. The exhibition is not limited to the shoe industry: part of the hall also showcases the region's rural past. There is a rich collection of old tools used for soil work, vine cultivation, and harvesting, providing a comprehensive glimpse into local life through the ages.
