Herrlisheim

The name Herrlisheim first appears in a donation deed dated 743, benefiting the Abbey of Wissembourg.

At that time, the village was called Hariolfesvilla, meaning "Hariold's farm." The local history was later marked by significant growth, notably due to the establishment of the Strasbourg refinery, which contributed to the commune's development for about twenty years.
