Heyritz Park

Previously lacking major green spaces, Heyritz Park covers 8.7 hectares and has become a new destination for local residents and all of Strasbourg. It invites relaxation and strolls in a natural setting redesigned after reclaiming the city's former port and industrial wastelands. With an area comparable to Parc des Contades, it joins the ranks of Strasbourg's large parks alongside Orangerie, Citadelle, and Jardin des Deux Rives, contributing to the metropolitan public space development.

The park is organized by a network of partially lit paths that facilitate pedestrian and cyclist movement. These routes connect various points of interest such as the floating dock, Vologda Square with its reflecting pool, the playground, sports field, and tiered seating. A pedestrian and cycle bridge spans the canal, providing direct access to the new Civil Hospital and the Finkwiller district. It also connects, via the Petit Heyritz passage (a pedestrian and cycle tunnel under the RN4), to the Schluthfeld and Plaine des Bouchers neighborhoods, strengthening the north-south links along the Deux Rives axis.
