Hilsen Refuge

This youth hostel offers a 26-bed dormitory in a mountain setting, at the place called Kustermatt (1045 m), on the ridge connecting Petit Ballon to Markstein in the Vosges Massif. Inside, the fully equipped kitchen allows guests to prepare their meals, while the recently renovated sanitary facilities include three toilets, two showers, and seven sinks. Outside, a lit barbecue and pétanque court invite guests to enjoy the common areas. Pets are not allowed on site.

Access is by car only in summer from Linthal. In winter, the access road is not cleared of snow, making the site inaccessible. The hostel is open every weekend from April to October, and every other weekend from November to the end of March.

During the summer period, from July 14 to August 15, the establishment remains open continuously.
