Hotel of the Industrial Society
Constructed between 1827 and 1829, this building first served as the seat of the Cotton Exchange and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Since its inception, it has housed the Société Industrielle de Mulhouse (SIM), founded in 1826 by philanthropic industrialists from the local Masonic lodge. Still active today, the SIM operates as a true think tank, organized into specialized committees (chemistry, mechanics, fine arts, public utility, etc.). Its role has been crucial in advancing the economic, social, and technical progress of the region.
