House of the Swedes

Nestled in the heart of the village of Saint-Pierre-Bois, this historic house, built in 1571, bears the marks of a turbulent past. According to local accounts, it served as the headquarters for Swedish troops during the Thirty Years' War, a devastating conflict that shaped Europe in the 17th century. Even more remarkable, this house is one of the few buildings in the village to have been spared the ravages of war, thus testifying to its sturdiness and strategic importance at the time.
