Hydroelectric Power Plant

The hydroelectric power plant, equipped with four horizontally arranged bulb turbines, produces an average of 650 million kilowatt-hours of renewable electricity each year. This production occurs without greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to clean and sustainable energy.

A small hydroelectric plant, installed in 2006 as a complement, generates an additional 3 million kilowatt-hours annually.

Since their commissioning, the fish passes at Iffezheim (2000) and Gambsheim (2006) have allowed large migratory fish, such as salmon and sea trout, to pass the hydroelectric structures. These devices facilitate their return to their birthplaces, introduction sites, or spawning grounds in tributaries originating from the Vosges and the Northern Black Forest.
