Jean Bugatti Stele

This stele pays tribute to Jean Bugatti, son of Ettore Bugatti, founder of the Molsheim-Dorlisheim automobile factory in 1909, the very year of Jean's birth.

Early on involved in the family business, Jean developed remarkable artistic talent, especially in designing elegant car bodies.

His life ended tragically on August 11, 1939, during a road test of a Bugatti 57 C, at only thirty years old. This tragedy deeply affected his father, Ettore Bugatti, who never recovered.

The stele is located in Duppigheim, a small town about twenty kilometers from Strasbourg.
