Jesselberg Natural Site

Perched above the hill of Soultz-les-Bains, the Jesselberg rises like a natural gem on the Alsace wine route, about twenty kilometers from Strasbourg.

This site actually consists of a string of limestone islets aligned from north to south, squeezed between the Alsace plain and the Vosges massif.

Its extremely permeable soil promotes relatively dry areas and generous sunshine.

Thanks to its slope, often ideal exposure, and moderate altitude, the Jesselberg enjoys a microclimate that is milder and warmer than the surrounding areas.

The landscapes and discoveries vary according to the seasons and the corners explored: the flora dresses in changing colors with hawthorn, dogwood, privet, barberry, and sage. As for the fauna, it comes alive with skylarks, kestrels, magpies, lizards, and the discreet traces of roe deer and badgers.
