Jesuit Chapel and College
The Jesuit chapel and college reflect the commitment of Duke François II of Lorraine to the Counter-Reformation when he founded this religious institution in 1630.
After the Jesuit order was banned in France in 1764, the site was temporarily converted into a food depot during the French Revolution.
Despite these upheavals, both buildings have been preserved in a state relatively close to their original appearance.
On the exterior wall of the chapel, a commemorative plaque honors the Schilt brothers, born in Sarre-Union, who distinguished themselves as officers in Napoleon's armies.
Today, the chapel is freely accessible to the public during the day.
